Ok, with that out of the way, I have noticed that many of our members here enjoy entertainment. Go figure. :D;)
So, sitting around the shop on a slow day, I thought to myself, "Hey, self, why not start a thread where members can share and discuss movies that they have watched recently?" Kinda like a book club without the books. Or meetings.
Each day (probably) I will (most likely) post a link to one (or more, depending on how busy I am) movie that I have an interest in sharing and invite others to do the same (strictly for reference and discussion purposes only, of course)
Please include a working link, MPAA rating, genre, IMDB link if available, and anything else you think might be of value (ie. gore, excessive violence, language, nudity/sexual situations, personal rating :nah::rofl:etc...)

Now grab your popcorn :pop: and silence your mobile devices cuz the show is about to start.

    Another of my all-time favorites
The Man From Earth (2007) MPAA n/a
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0756683/?ref_=nv_sr_1
    Drama Fantasy
Nothing offensive unless you don't like having your perceptions challenged.
    http://sockshare.net/watch/Qmx5l2vR-the-man-from-earth.html

Now I enjoy car chases, explosions special effects and gun fights (especially in space) as much as the next guy. This movie has none of those things but it defines movie making as an art form. Everything is perfect. Everything. From the acting and direction, the pacing, the cinematography to the subtle score. I won't give any of the story away but, for a movie where nothing happens, it it completely engrossing from the first line to the closing credits. I watched this 3 times straight the day I discovered it. Don't let the absence of laser guns, boobs or laser gun wielding boobs deter you from watching this show. Please.

What a good idea for an interesting thread, Ghost. I do not have much to offer as my hubs is a boob gun-toting/car crash, kind of movie guy. You know...the kind that most men flock to.:p

However, I watched a movie here at home a few months ago that grabbed my attention and kept it to the end. I loved everything about it. Nothing offensive....just an interesting story with some really good acting.

Agreed. Not a big Matthew McConaughey fan (liked him in Contact though) but thought he did a great job with the character. And it was almost as if the settings were a character in and of themselves.

And for the car chase, shoot 'em up folks.

    Baby Driver (2017) MPAA R
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3890160/?ref_=nv_sr_1
    Action, Crime
    Plenty of language, gun violence
    https://123movies.cd/movie/baby-driver-562pg1q/watching.html

Just a fun watch. Several big names and some seriously cool car sequences. Surprisingly, the acting is really good with the exception of Kevin Spacey. His character is kinda flat and stereotypical but Ansel Elgort is convincing, sensitive and quite believable despite the outlandish plot. No big shockers in the movie- simple, predictable plot, lots of bullets flying, and crazy cool action sequences.

Edit: And watch for CJ Jones as the deaf foster father of Baby. The man can speak volumes with just his facial expressions. Amazingly emotive.
Oh, and the quote, "Your tattoo says HAT." I actually laughed out loud at that exchange!

While looking for a movie to post today, I stumbled across this- this- this...thing.
I'm just gonna leave it here and back away slowly...

Zonbi Asu (Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead) (2011)
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2061869/?ref_=nv_sr_1

    https://123movies.cd/movie/zonbi-asu-nlne0l9

    [Copied from IMDB]
Wracked with guilt over the suicide of her bullied sister, young karate student Megumi accompanies four older friends on a trip into the woods: smart girl Aya, her druggie boyfriend Také, full-figured model Maki, and nerdy Naoi. Things start to go badly when Maki finds a parasitical worm inside a fish - and wolfs it down, in the hope that it will keep her skinny. Her stomach later feels horrible and she relieves herself in an outhouse. The parasitic worm she ate had apparently laid eggs in her stomach and came out of in her diarrhea attack. Soon after, they are attacked by a crowd of poop-covered undead who emerge from the outhouse toilet Maki used. The group seeks refuge in the home of the strange Dr. Tanaka, who conducts experiments on the zombies and the parasites ... and who has another fate in mind for the five strangers. Can Megumi's karate help them escape, or will she have to rely on the liberating power of flatulence to defeat her demented captor?

Just watched a really good movie, "Shattered Glass" from 2003. A really good, true story, drama about a well known
Washington D.C. journalist in the late 90s. How he rose to fame, and then fell to disgrace when it was discovered he was making his stories up, but writing them as factual.

    Highly recommended, riveting story.

I take it this is a Japanese film? These are all Japanese names. They are one crazy culture! And I thought Italians were nuts.

I think I remember that man. I won't call him a journalist because, obviously, he isn't one. What a A**hole to do something like that. Why didn't the jerk become a novelist if he was so good at making up stories, lol.

I wondered the same thing....fiction novels sell so well, why didn't he write those? He started out ok, but according to the movie, he relished being loved and admired by his colleagues. Too much so.

And yes.....his story is famous. Stephen Glass
