I don't know much about this stuff, but the democrats are proposing a bill to "ask" Trump to be impeached? Who are they asking, who would make the call?

I'm not sure either---- but, I did get my bumper sticker on my car. I drive a small hatchback so it's on the rear window, where all the people driving way up in the air can see it :).

They are asking the House of Representatives, which is where any impeachment must begin. It's premature and won't go anywhere at this point.

Why do you think they are doing it then? And do you think it is a possibility down the road?

They were doing it more out of outrage rather than legal practicality, and it was defeated accordingly. You really need the equivalent of an air tight legal case to proceed with impeachment. Possibly when Mueller's team is done with it's investigation, but not before IMO. Even if crimes are clearly demonstrated at that point, it is still a political matter, and House Republicans may still vote against impeachment. And if they do vote to impeach, which is essentially a political prosecution, that doesn't mean he will be convicted and removed from office. It takes a 2/3 majority vote.

Remember, Clinton was impeached for lying and obstructing justice, but not convicted. Nixon was impeached but resigned when he was advised he would certainly be convicted. Impeachment doesn't necessarily lead to removal from office.

I'm beginning think Trump being elected was a good thing. He brought a lot of ugliness to the surface, and it might be a good thing.
